Here are some questions we prepared earlier. 

 

WHAT TYPE OF SERVICES DO YOU PROVIDE?

My types of services both print and web designs include Logo Design, Branding, Business Cards, Stationary, Marketing Material, Web Design, Social Media Branding and packaging design.


HOW DOES THE PROCESS WORK?

First we will have a chat about what you are looking for and I will put together a quote for you. On acceptance of the quote you will be sent an invoice for a 50% up front deposit. This deposit will secure your booking.

I will then ask you to complete a brief so I can get a better understanding of what you want to achieve from your project. After I have received this I do some in-depth research and look at your competitors, target audience and any inspiration you have sent through. I then design a concept/s based on the research and the brief we have created. I will present these concepts to you for feedback. We will then work through up to three rounds of feedback. Once you are happy with the project and we have finalised the design I will send the final invoice. Once final invoice payment has been received you will receive all relevant files!
 

DO I OWN THE COPYRIGHT OF THE DESIGN WORK?

All copyrights are transferred over to the client upon full payment being made.

MY SISTER-IN-LAWS COUSINS FRIENDS SON OFFERED TO DESIGN MY LOGO AND WEBSITE FOR $20.00 WHY SHOULD I PAY YOU TO DO ONE?

The short answer is you get what you pay for. Professional graphic designers are trained not only in using the appropriate software and making sure what you are getting has been designed and not “borrowed” from a clipart site, but also in what it takes to create and establish a brand. A trained graphic designer understands design identity and will do research in your field to create you something relevant, unique and considered for your business. Just because I own a hammer doesn’t mean I should be a builder. I wouldn’t want to live in that house.
 

I LIVE IN A FAR AWAY PLACE, CAN WE STILL WORK TOGETHER?

Absolutely! More than half of our clients are from outside Sydney. Most of our work is done via email. 
 

I NEEDED THIS YESTERDAY, CAN YOU HELP?
I am always happy to take on rush jobs. A 20% fee applies to the invoice of all rush jobs needed within 48 hours.
 

CAN I HAVE THE DESIGN FILES?

Generally we don’t realise design files to clients, your payment is for the design of your project and for the final product/artwork. The final product includes all the files you will require for printing and future use. The ownership of the working files always remains with the creator (Amy Kate). Therefore if clients want to, they can purchase my working files from me for a cost.
 

CAN YOU ARRANGE PRINTING FOR ME OR RECOMMEND A GOOD PRINTER?

Absolutely! We have some great relationships with trade printers. These printers offer great discounts and are perfect for any larger orders of things like business cards, flyers, brochures etc. 

Alternatively if you wish to send your print ready files straight to a printer, we recommend Fast Printing. For smaller and more boutique projects we also recommend Stitch Press. 
 

WHAT ON EARTH IS A VECTOR FILE? 

Vector files are files created in specific software programs that work with vector artwork (as opposed to pixel based artwork which is called a Raster file). A vector file is usually created in Illustrator and is an image that can be resized, scaled, have colours and fonts changes without losing quality or resolution. Vector files are mostly used by professional designers and print shops as the highest quality is needed for your logo and other graphics.
